  1. Hello, My name is Laura Campos. My 4 year old son was recently diagnosed with ASD. We have just moved from Prince Rupert to Langley to get a good Plan of Intervention for him. We are in the very beginning trying to hire a Team to work with. We would like to meet parents who might help us with their experiences in order to make the better decision for our son.
    Regards,

    1. Hello Laura
      after reading your post, i wonder how you got a diagnosis so quickly. i mean, your son is only 4 years old and the waitlist for any solid diagnosis is extremely slow. Just curious as i started quetioning my son’s speech issues in dec 2014. i didn’t get an appt til april 2015, then from there to fam. doctor , to o/t therapist in june then a pediatrician in July. now were being referred to vancouver autism diagnosis place. with a waitlist being at least a year. My son is 4 as well and i wanted a solid diagnosis quickly so we can work on a plan for him. I don’t mean to be too forward or nosey, just want the best for my kids as well as you do. i am so lost as to what i should be doing. Iam sorry

      Regards

      1. At this time we do not have a facilitator for meetings in Langley. If you are aware of any parent interested in hosting monthly meetings in Langley, please let us know! In the meantime we are happy to have parents from any locations join currently running presentations. Our Surrey venues would likely be the closest. For information on those events please see our main page at;

        Thank you

  2. We are looking for an experienced BI to work with our 3 year old boy recently diagnosed with ASD. This is a great opportunity to receive training from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with extensive experience and make a real difference in the life of a young boy.

    Session times needed are Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:30-9:30 a.m. in a daycare setting. Saturday/Sunday sessions are also a possibility as well as sessions from 3:30-5:30 on Wednesday or Fridays within our home. Applicants must be ready to commit to working for at least one year.

    Location is very close to the Douglas College Coquitlam David Lam campus.

    Interested candidates please email resumes to parinaz_t@yahoo.com

  3. Hello,

    I would like to join a support group. I sent an email to Dione close to a month ago and never received a reply. The number listed above is not in service. I also tried sending an email to the generic email (info@autismsupportbc.ca) and it bounced back with an error message. What else can I do to connect with someone? I’m in Langley but would like to join the Surrey support group. Is there a different facilitator at this point?

    Thank you,

    Nicole

    1. Hi Nicole, I will correct the email link and let Dione know about the number issue and your request to join. Our Surrey facilitator is still the same but we typically break over the summer and resume meetings in September. Have you joined our autism support network bc Facebook group? All of our events/meetings will be posted there. Responsibilities have shifted a bit since one our the board of directors moved into another role. Thank you for your patience as things settle into place!
