We are a fantastic North Vancouver Family of a charming 3.5 year old girl with an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) diagnosis, who is looking for a reliable, committed and team oriented Behavioural Interventionist (BI) to work with a fantastic behavioral consultant team. Our little girl is active, verbal, and, in our opinion absolutely adorable!

Location of Job: North Vancouver

Behaviour Consultant: Gabrielle Stigant

Hours Required: A typical work week would be 2-3 afternoon sessions, with each session 90-120 minutes. Attendance at monthly team meetings would be mandatory.

We are a North Vancouver Family of a charming 3 year old girl with an ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) diagnosis,. We are looking for a reliable, committed and team-oriented Behavioural Interventionist (BI) to work with a behavioural consultant team. Our little girl is active, verbal, and adorable!

The Behavioural Interventionist (BI) would work under the direction of a Board Certified Behaviour Consultant using Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA) through the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). The Consultant would formulate a Behavioural Plan to be implemented by the team. After an initial training period, the BI would work independently implementing specific portions of the Plan, with regular visits by the Behavioural Consultant to assess progress.

Team meetings with the Behavioural Consultant and our child’s preschool would occur on a regular basis to discuss progress. The Plan would be revisited and adjusted every quarter based on feedback at these team meetings. ABA Training on ESDM will be provided initially, and supplemented as required to implement changes to the Plan.

The ideal candidate would: Be fun, creative, energetic, motivated, and flexible Have experience working with special needs children, particularly Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Have experience working with preschool children (age 3). Have a clean criminal record check Be able to commit for 18 months minimum, ideally longer. Have coursework in behaviour analysis, education, psychology or another related field an asset, but not required (training provided).

  1. Who would be the best support group to help a palliative father securing a place for his adult child? Are there any support networks in North Vancouver for parents with adult autism? He will likely need to connect to like families so that he can be assured of his son’s future
